2026 ASPRS Gulf South Region Geospatial Conference

Call for Oral and Poster Presentations for Student Competitions 

The American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) Gulf South Region will hold its 5th annual Geospatial Conference from April 8–10, 2026 at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. One of the objectives of the Gulf South Region is to advance knowledge in imaging and geospatial information within the region. The Geospatial Conference is the Gulf South Region’s flagship event and provides a venue for practitioners and students to network, share knowledge, and be exposed to the latest technological advancements showcased by our conference sponsors and partners.

Presentation Topics:

We are interested in abstracts related to surveying, geomatics, remote sensing, and geographic information science for this event. Potential research topics include, but are not limited to:

·     Areas of Geodesy, Geographic Information Systems, Global Navigation Satellite Systems, Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry and Hydrographic Surveying

·     Emerging technologies (e.g. Uncrewed Aerial Systems (aka Drone), Terrestrial Laser Scanning System, LiDAR, SAR, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Real-time Monitoring, Digital twins, Holocomputing, GEOAI/Machine Learning/Deep Learning algorithms)

Student Awards:

The top four submissions will be accepted for an oral presentation at the conference. The remaining submissions will be accepted for a poster presentation at the conference. There will be a separate graduate and an undergraduate student division in the competition. The ASPRS Gulf South Region will select the top presentations for each division, and these students will receive recognition on our website and social media and a cash award of $500, $250, and $150, for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, respectively.

Important Deadlines:

Abstract submission: Dec 19, 2025

Notification of abstract acceptance: Jan 12, 2026

Conference registration deadline to make it to the program: Mar 02, 2026
