I couldn't seem to get my microphone to work yesterday. I'll see if I can fix that.

As far as events go, I go to the NHLSA Annual Conference most years which usually takes place at the beginning of December as well as some of the quarterlies. We have a booth at the annual conference and could include some ASPRS flyers if interested.

I'll be speaking at the Vermont Society of Land Surveyors Fall Conference on September 13, 2024.   I can mention ASPRS and provide any information.

    In NY we have:

NYSAPLS (Land Surveyors) every January (2025)

NYSGIS Association (Annual conference event in the Fall). This year its the GeoSpatial Summit in September (https://nysgis.net/geosummit2024/)

GIS/SIG- A regional GIS user group in the Finger Lakes/Rochester area that draws from Syracuse to Buffalo down to Binghamton. They have an annual Spring Conference (2025).

STRATUS- a Drone technology centric conference co-sponsored by SUNY ESF (Syracuse) and RIT (Rochester).

NEARC- aligns well with our ASPRS region, has a Spring and Fall conference. This year will be in Burlington VT in October (https://www.northeastarc.org/fall-nearc.html)

The Land Surveyors are a definable outreach target for new members, standards, and for pitching certifications. The NSPS (National Surveyors) has put out a "new" survey certification called the Certified Survey Technician (CST) that has an exam and experience requirements. But it has nothing to do with the ASPRS certs. It begs the issue of APSRS reaching out and working more closely with NSPS on things like certifications and standards, etc.

What about non-GIS groups that rely on GIS and remote sensing? Natural resources folks like forestry and wetlands; Utility folks like pipeline, powerline, water and stormwater; State GOV people like regulatory and land management people; or local gov consumers of GIS and RS data?  At a minimum they should know what to ask for and how to ask for it.
