Sheridan Moore is a Remote Sensing Scientist focused on hyper- and multispectral visible and near-infrared imagery with over 10 years of experience. She started her career working at NASA GSFC and has built up an expertise in the space-science realm.
Sheridan is currently a Senior Consultant and the Imagery Practice Lead at Esri, the global market leader in geographic information system (GIS) software, location intelligence, and mapping. Her day-to-day consists of providing technical solutions, writing proposals, and working with customers to provide the best user-experience.
Prior to working at Esri, Sheridan held a variety of positions including: high school mathematics teacher, remote sensing engineer at a Federally Funded Research and Development Center, a meteorite hunter in Antarctica, and scientist at a variety of universities and federal agencies. Sheridan was previously a member of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) Compact Reconnaissance Imaging Spectrometer for Mars (CRISM) Science Team and a Science Team Collaborator for both the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) Curiosity Rover Mastcam instrument and the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover Mastcam-Z instrument.
Outside of her science career, Sheridan is passionate about animal rescue/rehabilitation, ocean and environmental conservation, and education/mentoring. At the core, what drives her work is her desire to make an impact through day-to-day encounters.
