    Hello folks,

    Quick reminder that our next virtual meeting is tomorrow, February 20 at 11:00am PDT / 2:00pm EDT. Zoom info is on the event page and repeated below at the end of this post. I expect to complete a few lingering editorial changes to LAS 1.5 and review the discussion at last week's 2025 GeoWeek Conference.

    As promised, the slides from last week's meeting are attached to this if you'd like to review what we covered. In addition, there have been a few changes to how this ASPRS Community is configured, which should make it more accessible and paves the way for me to complete migration of content from the old ASPRS website.

    A couple of points of bad news... Unfortunately, I regret to say that I was unable to recover the recording from that session and will be unable to share it as intended. In addition, my GeoWeek travel extended longer than expected and I was unable to meet the ASPRS News deadline to get the LAS 1.5 draft completed, so that'll end up going out next week instead of this week as planned. I expect that we should still be able to publish by the end of Spring 2025, as planned.

    Here's the planned LAS 1.5 publication schedule:

    1. Dec 19 LWG Virtual Meeting: Begin internal review of LAS 1.5 draft.
    2. Jan 16 LWG Virtual Meeting: Complete internal review of LAS 1.5 draft.
    3. Feb 12 1-2pm GeoWeek in-person meeting: public comment period begins for LAS 1.5 draft, with email announcement AND in-person meeting at GeoWeek.
    4. Feb 20, 2025 LWG Virtual Meeting: Begin integration of public comments, GeoWeek recap.
    5. Mar 20, 2025 LWG Virtual Meeting: Continue editing from public comments.
    6. April 2025: Prepare for publication.
    7. May 2025: Submit final draft for ASPRS Board approval.
    8. June 2025: Final publication
    9. Q3 2025: Submit to OGC for endorsement/publication.

    In attendance: Ezra Che (OSU/EZDataMD), Nicholas Johnson (USACE), Darrick Wagg (GeoCue), Howard Butler (HoBu), Jochen Keil (Rapidlasso), Milena Janiec (USGS), Sandra Fox, Chris Caird.

    Topics:

    1. GeoWeek recap, including reviewing changes to make the LWG ASPRS Community page more publicly available.
    2. LAS 1.5 publication schedule.
    3. Discussion of adding Class 49 to the Topobathy LDP as a "Low Confidence Bathymetric Point". Do we actually need another class? Is this problem actually specific to topobathy data, or a more general need? What about ensemble classification models? Can we use the KeyPoint classification flag to flag HIGH confidence points instead of specifically classifying LOW confidence points? To be continued...
    4. Discussion of PROJ and WKTv2's ability to support precise CRS features, such as geoid models, EPOCH, and similar complex information. Issue thread 154 was created to continue this discussion: https://github.com/ASPRSorg/LAS/issues/154
