    The April 2025 LWG meeting will be on Thursday 4/17 at 11:00am PST / 2:00pm EST. Zoom info is on the event page and repeated below at the end of this post. I expect to present the final LAS 1.4 R16 draft out for public comment and finalize the 1.5 draft for publication.

    Yes, this means I'm behind schedule for LAS 1.5. We realized that it would be ideal to finalize the LAS 1.4 R16 update FIRST and then publish LAS 1.5 afterward. The version history will be much more clean and easier to follow -- the editorial updates also required several more hours than I expected. I do think we will still hit our Summer 2025 deadline for LAS 1.5, but it might be closer to the end of the summer at this point.

    If there's time, Howard will hopefully demo a prototype HTML version of the specification.

    Here's the updated publication schedule:

    1. April 9, 2025: Begin LAS 1.4 R16 public comment period.
    2. April 17, 2025: LWG meeting: Review LAS 1.4 R16 public comments and review LAS 1.5.
    3. April 23, 2025: Begin LAS 1.5 public comment period.
    4. May 15 2025: End LAS 1.4 R16 public comment period. 
    5. May 15, 2025: LWG meeting: Integrate public comments and prepare for publication.
    6. May 30, 2025: End LAS 1.5 public comment period.
    7. May 2025: Submit final LAS 1.4 R16 draft for ASPRS Board approval.
    8. June 2025: Final publication of LAS 1.4 R16. Submit final LAS 1.5 draft for ASPRS Board approval.
    9. July 2025: Final publication of LAS 1.5.
    10. Q3 2025: Submit to OGC for endorsement/publication.
