Welcome to the ASPRS 2025 ITS Session on Disaster Response and Risk Reduction.
As the frequency and intensity of natural hazards continue to rise, alongside growing geopolitical tensions and cybersecurity threats, there is an urgent need to understand the causalities of these disasters as well as potential impacts. Equally important is to develop innovative strategies that harness emerging technologies and interdisciplinary techniques to reduce risks across societal, economic, built environment, and critical infrastructure systems.
As scientists and practitioners, we play a vital role in developing action oriented solutions to support stakeholders and decision-makers in both immediate response and long-term recovery. Your research is a critical part of this effort, and I'm eager to learn how your work contributes to enhancing resilience and accelerating disaster response.
Please feel free to share your questions, insights, and comments throughout this session.
Best,
Bandana
