  • 1.  LWG meeting next week! (11/21)

    The November 2024 LWG meeting will be on Thursday 11/21 at 11:00am PDT / 2:00pm EDT. Zoom info is on the event page and repeated below at the end of this post. I expect to begin reviewing the LAS 1.5 draft together and identify any remaining issues that need to be resolved before we submit the specification for community review.

    Great meeting today! Significant progress was made on PR#144 during a collaborative work session, which is one of the final significant sets of changes for the LAS 1.5 specification. This clears the way to being wrapping up LAS 1.5 for public comment.

    The following schedule has been proposed:

    1. Dec 19 LWG Virtual Meeting: Begin internal review of LAS 1.5 draft.
    2. Jan 16 LWG Virtual Meeting: Complete internal review of LAS 1.5 draft.
    3. Feb 12? GeoWeek in-person meeting: public comment period begins for LAS 1.5 draft, with email announcement AND in-person meeting at GeoWeek.
    4. Feb 20 LWG Virtual Meeting: Begin integration of public comments.
    5. Mar 20 LWG Virtual Meeting: Prepare for publication and submit to ASPRS Board for acceptance.

    Great work, everyone! We are nearly there!

    1. Consider publishing a HTML version of the specification on the Community page.
    2. Tentatively schedule in-person LWG meeting at GeoWeek. Early afternoon of Day 3?
