  • 1.  LWG meeting next week! (Oct 16 2025)

    The October 2025 LWG meeting is scheduled for next Thursday 10/16 at 11:00am PDT / 2:00pm EDT. Zoom info is on the event page and repeated below at the end of this post. 

    The group will review public engagement with OGC, USGS, ASPRS, and other entities regarding the publication of LAS 1.5 while revising the HTML hosting of the LAS specification.

    Thanks to Darrick, Howard, Jochen, and Matt for joining us! In this meeting we discussed plans for updating the OGC version of the LAS specification (https://www.ogc.org/standards/las/), the future of the HTML version of the specification (https://asprslas.org/latest/), plans to adopt LAS 1.5 in software deliveries, and plans for 2026.

    Howard and I will be at the 133rd OGC Member Meeting next week to present on LAS 1.4R14-16 and LAS 1.5, as well as attending on behalf of our own companies. Hope to see a few of you there!
